Eaton transformer testing facilities | Eaton PSEC
6:13
Eaton’s Power Systems Experience Center (PSEC) started out supporting advanced testing of transformers. Dan Carnovale, Director of the Power Systems Experience Centers, explains the loads and advancing metering it took to test transformers. Today, Eaton’s Juarez site is the leading transformer test lab and a transformer manufacturing site. Dulce Ibarra, Quality Manager, CPA Juarez, joins to give an overview of the Juarez test lab’s capabilities, compliance standards, certifications, along with the effects of harmonics. Learning from the design engineered at the PSEC, Eaton engineers in Juarez were able to build a larger load bank system and generate significant harmonics to help validate transformer design. Finally, Dulce also explains the manufacturing side of the facility and the end of line testing that takes place. This helps with quality control compliance thereby verifying consistent and reliable transformers. Have questions about harmonics?
